I love the intricate look of stranded colorwork but I don’t necessarily want to deal with two strands of yarn running along every round. Slipped stitches to the rescue! By taking advantage of the fact that working in the round allows a knitter to change colors at the beginning of each new round I was able to create a slipped stitch pattern that fools the viewer into thinking it was stranded. But you will know that you only knitted stripes and slipped stitches!

While I have tagged this pattern with Mosaic it is actually more of a modified mosaic - it uses slipped stitches to create colorwork, but you do not work 2 rounds stripes which is more typical of Mosaic.

These mitts feature the amazingly soft 100% Cashmere yarn Serenity from Anzula in the colors Saffron and Blanche, for the sample size shown in medium it took about half of each skein. To make the larger sizes you will use more of the skeins.

When deciding on what size to make I recommend on erring towards the larger size if you are on the edge of one size. The colorwork looks best when worn with neutral or positive ease.
