For my first new shape I decided to go with what is known as a “heart” shaped shawl. It isn’t a true heart, but it is a fun top down triangle shape with extra increases down the center of the wrong side. These extra increases elongate the “wings” of the shawl, allowing them to more fully envelop the shoulders which makes the shape easier to wear than a traditional triangle shape shawl!
For yarn I chose Susurro from Malabrigo. This blend of 50% silk, 25% merino wool, and 25% linen has beautiful drape, texture, and shine along with the always amazing Malabrigo color choices. My sample is worked in Tiger’s Eye, but you can chose your favorite. Since the pattern is in sections you can adjust the repeats to fit the amount of yarn you have. You could also change the yarn weight (and needle accordingly) but with the gauge change the yardage requirement becomes unpredictable.
The pattern includes written instructions for knitting the shawl, instructions for how to customize the pattern by inserting your chosen stitches from the One Stitch, Two Stitch e-book, and a worksheet to make customizing easier. The e-book must be purchased separately.
