Yarntastic! Fiber Arts

This has been brewing for a little while and I have been chomping at the bit to talk about it. But you know how secrets go. The feline has departed the carrying case and now I can let you in on the deal!

I want to go to this store so bad. That Mapes is stunning.

My first “trunk show”.

I put that in quotes because it really isn’t a traditional trunk show in the sense that I sent samples to a store. This awesome new store in Portland, Oregon called Yarntastic! Fiber Arts chose me to be their highlighted designer for the month of November. Lil’ ole me? The owner Lesley has knit up some absolutely beautiful samples and I shipped her printed patterns.

So surreal to see the pics of my husband there. Curiosity & Codebreaker.

When I received these photos (taken by Lesley’s cohort Dave who granted me permission to use the photos – which I might print out and frame) I literally got little shivers. Seeing the beautiful set up they have and seeing my patterns there is almost surreal.

They even have my most recent magazine article!

As a part of the featured designer concept they are doing a Roller Coaster cowl knit-a-long which should be super fun. I so wish I could jump on a plane and whoosh myself out there to be in on the fun.

If you live in Portland, stop in and tell them I said Hi! If you are like me and cannot make it there in a reasonable amount of time, you can always check in with them on their Ravelry group.

Who knows, maybe I will have more of these? I hope so. Do you have a yarn store near you that you think might want to have a little Barbara Benson party?😉
